Children's Fables
My Heart Embraces Inclusion
My Heart Embraces Inclusion
My Heart Embraces Inclusion (Mi corazón hace inclusión) is an initiative developed by Huellas & Futuro with the aim of fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusion from early childhood, using children’s literature as an educational and awareness-raising tool.
Through an illustrated fable featuring characters inspired by Bolivian wildlife, the initiative introduces children to human diversity, helping them understand that every person is different and that people have diverse ways of communicating, learning, interacting, and navigating the world. These differences deserve respect, recognition, and acceptance.
The fable addresses different conditions and experiences related to disability and neurodiversity, including physical, visual, hearing, and intellectual disabilities, cerebral palsy, autism, and burn-related injuries. Through its characters and stories, the fable encourages reflection on the barriers that many people face in their daily lives, as well as the importance of creating inclusive environments where everyone can participate, learn, and develop without discrimination.
The project aims to help children engage with these topics in a natural and accessible way through simple stories, illustrations, and playful learning activities that facilitate understanding, foster empathy, and encourage positive attitudes towards people with disabilities and neurodivergent individuals.
